…“Champagne and cookies are never out of fashion.”

The most important thing for a Sunday brunch is to want to share with family and friends. And for this there are 2 basic steps for the brunch to be successful:

How to plan an ideal brunch:

  1. Picking the menu to serve

  2. Decorating our table

Picking the menu to serve

It refers to planning what we will cook, or what we need to buy already prepared to serve at our table.

Many times, depending on the time we have, there are alternatives, such as buying a variety of fruits (grapes, strawberries, apples, among others ...) and serving them on a tray, as well as various breads, cheeses, etc., that we can accompany with our favorite drinks such as coffee, tea, juices, wines, etc.

So an example of a menu of purchased products, already made in the market, would be to serve at our brunch:

-breads, cupcakes, cookies, crackers, etc.

-cheeses, prosciuttos, salamis,

-dried fruit, fresh fruit,

-coffee, tea, juices, cocktails (mimosas, bellini, etc.) ...

The image below shows how I made a wooden board with purchased products (except for the pizza I made at home) such as cheddar cheese, prosciutto, salami, crackers, dates, hazelnuts and almonds, breadsticks or palitroques and olives.

On this occasion we accompany with a homemade cocktail, Sangría, for which we use a red wine from the region, chopped fruits (apples, oranges and strawberries), aerated San Pellegrino lemon water, aromatic mint and a teaspoon of sugar.

If we prefer to cook various dishes at home, we can make simple and traditional brunch recipes such as:

-cakes with jelly, nutella, fruits, etc.

-American breakfast (toast, eggs, bacon, roasted potatoes, ham), etc.

-baked cupcakes

-Homemade cookies.

As a tip if the Brunch is for a celebration, we can make a special Cake, cupcakes and personalized cookies, as shown in the image above on the occasion of our celebration for Mother's Day. That Sunday also at Brunch, I made a full american breakfast (with bacon, fried eggs, ham slice, roasted potatoes) and nutella crepes; and Mimosas cocktail (champagne & orange juice). All accompanied with black tea (english breakfast black tea).

Decorating our table

First is to determine if we will make our Brunch indoors or outdoors in the patio or garden. Then we must choose a preferred tableware to taste pleasantly as it will also decorate our table. Simply having our plates, glasses and cutlery is perfect for sitting at a pleasant table, and if we want to add a wider or special tableware, it would make the decoration very appreciable at our brunch table. As a tip, having several serving trays also helps us decorate the table.

Choosing a theme to decorate is a plus, we can decorate with flowers, citrus, tropical style, farm house style, etc.

In the photo below I show our patio table decorated in a garden style, mixing the styles of Tuscany / Northern California, adorned with common citrus from the area and yellow flowers. I placed a complete tea set, with tablecloth from the same collection with flowers and butterflies, according to the current spring season.
